Gradino più alto del podio per Valtteri Kautonen ed Emma Gennero alla prima edizione del Pila Rookie Fest by DEEJAY Xmasters

Nonostante le condizioni meteo avverse il Black Yeti, ma anche noi, siamo felici di aver dato il benvenuto a 75 rider provenienti da 11 nazioni da tutto il mondo, arrivati nello ski resort di Pila per competere alla prima edizione del Pila Rookie Fest by DEEJAY Xmasters. Nonostante le difficoltà incontrate durante lo svolgimento della gara, a causa della poca visibilità, il livello della gara è stato molto alto e tutti i giovani snowboarder sono riusciti ad esibire il proprio stile sulla tavola.
Set up perfetto all’AreaEffe Snowpark, grazie all’ottimo lavoro degli shaper, dove i rookies hanno potuto dare il meglio di sè in uno slopestyle da paura composto da: un donkey, sul secondo table una tank, un box and una pooljam, sui successivi tre table 2 kicker con jump da 10mt e 15mt l’uno.
Nella categoria Rookie boys il podio è stato conquistato dal team finlandese: Valtteri Kautonen (FIN) porta a casa l’oro, Joonas Bergman (FIN) and Sami Kallo (FIN) tornano in patria aggiudicandosi argento e bronzo. Valtteri ha chiuso perfettamente la sua terza run con: cab270 in, switch 50/50 to switch backside360 out sul rail set, cab 720, switch backside 900 and backside 540 sui kickers.
Merito anche all’italiana Emma Gennero (ITA) che nella categoria Rookie girls tiene alta la bandiera aggiudicandosi il primo posto sul podio grazie alla sua terza run di gara: cab180 in, 50/50, 50/50 sul rail set, indy, backside360, frontside360 sui kickers. Secondo e terzo posto per Sirja Niemi (FIN) e Lucie Silvestre (FRA).
L’Inghilterra occupa invece i gradini più alti del podio nella categoria Grom grazie a Gabriel Adams (GBR) tra i boys ed Amber Fennel (GBR) tra le girls.
Alla prima edizione del Pila Rookie Fest by DEEJAY Xmasters, sono stati assegnati dei premi anche ai più piccoli rider che hanno partecipato alla competizione: Romani Allemand (FRA), Charlie Lane (GBR) and Jan Golinczak (POL) sono i vincitori che a 12, 11 e 10 anni si sono fatti valere dimostrando grande stile.
Tutti i rider che hanno conquistato un posto sul podio sono qualificati per le 2018 World Rookie Finals a Kitzsteinhorn, Zell am See-Kaprun, Austria, dal 10 al 15 Aprile 2018.
Il World Rookie Tour ha scritto un’altra straordinaria pagina di snowboard freestyle nel panorama internazionale, in uno splendido clima che ha dato la possibilità ad ogni rider di stringere amicizie in tutto il mondo.

ABOUT THE WORLD ROOKIE TOUR
The World Rookie Tour is organized by the Black Yeti ssrl in collaboration with World Snowboard Federation and its National Snowboard Associations. It consists of a selection of high quality International events, the so called “Rookie Fests”, reserved for riders under 18’s only, in Europe, North and South America, Oceania and Asia. The World Rookie Tour consists not only of competitions: it also features loads of other activities to help rookies to grow in the field of professional snowboarding, such as photo & video shootings, avalanche and rescue clinics, meetings with photographers and international team managers, parties and English talks. Since year zero it awards tickets to world class events such as The Arctic Challenge, The Air & Style, The World Snowboarding Championships, invitations to professional snowboard photo & video shootings, and freeride trip in Chile. Every year the tour crowns the World Rookie Champion at the end of season, at the World Rookie Finals, a unique event where the best youngsters from almost 30 countries compete and have fun. ABOUT THE WORLD SNOWBOARD FEDERATION
The World Snowboard Federation (WSF) is the international organization exclusively working to develop the sport of snowboarding at all levels. Program areas include: Halfpipe, Big Air and Slopestyle competitions, Banked Slalom, Para-Snowboard, judge and shapers, education and certification, and snowboard activities for riders of every age.
